Frequent Questions

How do I know if I need dental aesthetics?

Are you happy with your smile? Would you like your teeth to look whiter or straighter? Are your teeth separated? Would you like your teeth to show more when you smile or talk? Do you grind your teeth while sleeping or during the day, causing them to wear down or break? Do your teeth look short or small? Do you see a dark line around your crowns? Do you avoid smiling in photos? If you are a man, did you grow a mustache because you don't like your smile?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, dental aesthetics is for you.

How can I make my teeth whiter?

Many people are unhappy with the color of their teeth. Tooth enamel is a tissue where pigments from tea, coffee, mate, cola drinks, strawberries, cigarettes and red wine are deposited.

Discoloration can also be caused by trauma or by taking certain antibiotics at an early age.

The whitening treatment consists of applying different compounds to the enamel for a set period of time, after which it is rinsed thoroughly.

What are veneers?

There are two types of veneers. At our Center we place veneers directly on the tooth without needing to wear it down. They are shaped directly on the tooth surface.

The other type consists of thin laminates in the same color as the tooth, bonded to its surface with an adhesive. These are not our preferred option, since they require wearing down the tooth and the adhesive used tends to discolor over time.

What are crowns?

These are elements that completely cover the tooth.

To make them, the tooth must be worn down on all sides. They can be made from different materials, which affects their durability and final aesthetics.

Do veneers need touch-ups?

Yes. During the twice-yearly checkups, a touch-up is performed if necessary. This depends on habits, saliva acidity, etc.

The advantage of this technique is that touch-ups can be made without removing the veneer.

How long does a dental aesthetics procedure take?

It depends on each case, generally ranging between an hour and a half and three hours, which can be done in one or two sessions.

What care is needed after dental aesthetics?

The same as your natural teeth: very good oral hygiene.
